Broadwindsor’s Fun Week-end

I really enjoyed my breakfast at 9.30am last Saturday at the ‘Big Breakfast’ in the Comrades Hall – a full English served up by the Jubilee Committee, it was good to see Andrew Hookings back in the kitchen after his time away – it was packed and I believe they served more than 100 people

The Scarecrows Competition’s theme this year was ‘Hero’s & Villains’ my favourite was Mary Poppins, in the afternoon cream teas were served on the lawn of Broadwindsor House and in the evening a barn dance in the Comrades Hall.

The ‘Fun’ continued on Sunday; a special family church service in the morning and then the main event of the week-end is the annual parade of shields bearing the names of village organisations, it was good to see the Brownies in the Parade – they were led by a bagpiper, the Fire Brigades’ Land Rover with me in the Broadwindsor Community Responder Vehicle bring up the rear – all the way round the own way system back to the Comrades Hall Car Park – where there was entertainment & stalls on Bernard’s’ Place for all to enjoy
