Sustainable success for Broadwindsor Allotment Group

Sustainable Water Harvesting Project in Broadwindsor

Ian Rees, Countryside Officer for Dorset’s AONB congratulates Chairperson, Janet Iveson and other allotmenteers on a successful Sustainable Water Harvesting Project in Broadwindsor

Yesterday I attended the successful conclusion to a project started several years ago when I forwarded an email about a matched funding grant opportunity from Dorset’s AONB, to Wendy Shields of who is the outgoing Secretary of Broadwindsor Allotment Group.  Most of the work carried out was by local residents, David Rae and Peter Davies and other plot holders volunteered their muscle when required.  County Councillor, Rebecca Knox and local Councillor, Fraser Hughes also attended.
The short presentation video can be viewed by clicking HERE .
There are some plots still available to rent @£15/year for a full plot and £10/year for a half plot (These prices include the BAG subs).  Please contact Janet Iveson on 01308 868759 for further details.
