Licensing Training at South Walks House

Today I attend a Licensing Training Course – although I’m not on the Licensing Committee I felt that I needed to know more about the current Licensing Laws, especially as I volunteer at our shop & I’m on the Comrades Hall Committee. There have been changes to the 2003 Act – There is no longer a vicinity test, any member of the public can submit a representation to an application, as long as it’s relevant, they could live miles away, and Temporary Event Notices have been increased from 4 days to 7 days, however the Environmental Health Department (with regard to noise)  are now consulted as well as the Police, and there are mores changes to come into force by the end of the year – will update again when I have the details
